Hey i'm Ava, and I wanted to share my story and hopefully find others who've experienced what I have. I underwent an orchiectomy when I was three years old due to a medical complication. The decision on my upbringing was made by my parents at the time and obviously I was brought up as a girl for my entire childhood without thinking I was any different. At the begging of puberty I'd began to notice I had other things my friends didn't and began to ask questions. My parents explained what had happened and we'd arranged to see a private gender therapist to start me on Estrogen and (as a precaution) testosterone blockers. I'm nearly 20 now and am forever grateful for my parents decision and was wondering how many others experienced similar. I chose Reddit because I have no idea where other communities like this exist, I hope to maybe make some friends too! 🩷
